Seton Hotel Reviews
Before & During/After Renovations

April 2011

Thank you for checking our reviews. Reviews are in order received and show THE SETON HOTEL is in the process of a total—but not disruptive—renovation. We can offer true budget accommodations in our original rooms. Still within very-affordable-rates are our beautiful new rooms (with private and shared bath choices) that are earning top reviews!

Some reviews have been shortened or corrected for spelling, but no comments have been changed.

• Location and price are the best thing about this hotel. Room with shared bathroom is cheapest option. This price is the lowest in the neighborhood of the hotel especially in Manhattan Area. Grand central station is 5 minutes of walking distance; hence very good connectivity of subway. Long live Seton Hotel.

• Stayed there for 3 nights, was a little worried after all the reviews I had read here, but we had 2 rooms on the 6th floor and it was all renovated, brand new and very clean. Free wi-fi everywhere. Good value for what you pay.

Hotel staff were wonderful! Hotel itself is older and doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but it was clean, and the price was fantastic for the area it is in. I would definitely go back!

• Don't book this hotel expecting luxury. This is a very "worn" hotel that is undergoing much needed renovations. Nevertheless, it has an excellent location, and found the staff very helpful. The room was dark, but provided a good night's sleep, and did so for a very fair price. And...no bed bugs. Its not listed on the registry, to my relief (unlike many more fancy hotels in NY)!

• For a bed to sleep in while you're in NYC, this place is just fine. We had a room with a shared bathroom, and the bathroom was clean and available every time we needed a shower. The room was cleaned daily. The hotel is close to the subway, and within walking distance to Times Square. Good place to stay if you're on a budget.

• My boyfriend and I stayed at Seton Hotel last weekend and although I was a bit nervous after reading a lot of negative reviews, I found the hotel to be just fine for us (two 20-somethings on a budget who didn't want to stay in a hostel). Our room had a queen bed with a private bath, the room was old but the sheets were clean and so was the bathroom. We were able to leave our luggage there after we checked out and the staff offered us a discount on our next visit. The Seton Hotel is in a great location and you can't beat price, we'll definitely stay here again.

• I was very impressed with what I found at Seton Hotel. Staff was courteous and helpful and room/bath was exceptionally clean. I had a room with a double bed and shared bath but believe I got lucky in that I didn't see anyone else on my floor. The free Wifi came in handy and the hotel was near where I needed to be on this visit. An excellent value!

• Trip Advisor only let's me review once every 3 months. I stay here each month I go to NYC I have stayed in their old rooms and their new rooms. The location of this hotel is perfect --2 blocks away from Grand Central Terminal and minutes away from Times Square on the train. The rooms are always clean and the new rooms are well decorated. The staff is very friendly, always willing to help and make it a good stay. Every time I show up seems like something new is being done to improve the hotel. The price for the room is well worth it and at the end of the night you know you will be getting the best value in the city. I look forward to staying with them and iI'm actually planning on reserving their top floor suite for when I take my family.
